Open ICGC plugin

Toolbar plugin QGIS “Open ICGC” that allows direct and quick access to the geoinformation of the ICGC

The Open ICGC plugin is integrated into the store of the free QGIS program, which adds a new toolbar and allows direct and quick access to the geographic information of the ICGC as well as to the search by place names and addresses with just one click. The new connector is compatible with QGIS versions later than 3.10.

This connector facilitates both the online connection, for users who always want to work with the most up-to-date data, and the download, for users who need to work offline. The vector download maps have been styled to facilitate interpretation from QGIS.

Reference layers

They need an internet connection (geoservice), but they guarantee that projects will always have updated data.

They include the following information:

  • Administrative divisions (head of municipality, polygons of municipality, region, province).
  • Geological map 1: 250,000.
  • Models of terrain elevations at 2 m and 5 m, and with shaded style.
  • Orthophotos: orthoXpres (most recent orthophoto, from the same year, frame by frame), quick mosaic, color and infrared orthophoto with their time series.
  • Sheets of the cartographic series (5,000, 10,000, 25,000, 50,000, 100,000 and Lidar).
  • Topographic maps (pyramid and maps 1: 5,000, 1: 50,000, 1: 250,000).

Layers for download

They allow you to download the data to work offline or to manipulate it later. Downloaded layers are not updated automatically. The download of large products can be done partially, by area or administrative division. In products that allow this process, it will generate a cutout of the indicated area, and in products generated by leaves, it will unload all the leaves that fit within that area.

Include the following vector and raster data:

Vector

  • Base of land covers of Catalonia.
  • Color orthophoto at different resolutions (25 cm, 50 cm and 25 m pixels).
  • Geological map 1: 250,000  (symbolized for QGis).
  • GT VI. Map for the prevention of geological hazards 1:25,000 (symbolized for QGis).
  • Infrared orthophoto at different resolutions (25 cm, 50 cm and 25 m pixels).
  • Land cover map of Catalonia.
  • Models of terrain elevations at 2 m and 5 m.
  • Municipal base 1: 5,000 (administrative divisions, all of Catalonia).
  • Rasterized topographic maps at 1: 25,000, 1: 50,000, 1: 100,000, 1: 250,000, 1: 500,000, 1: 1,000,000, 1: 2,000,000 scales.
  • Topographic base 1,5000 rasterized.
  • Topographic mapping 1: 1,000 (grouped sheets).
  • Topographic referential (cut of area of interest).

Raster

  • Color orthophoto at different resolutions (25 cm, 50 cm and 25 m pixels).
  • Infrared orthophoto at different resolutions (25 cm, 50 cm and 25 m pixels).
  • Land cover map of Catalonia.
  • Models of terrain elevations at 2 m and 5 m.
  • Rasterized topographic maps at 1: 25,000, 1: 50,000, 1: 100,000, 1: 250,000, 1: 500,000, 1: 1,000,000, 1: 2,000,000 scales.
  • Topographic base 1: 5,000 rasterized.
