MapICC

Base cartography and aerial image viewer of Catalonia

The MapICC app is based on a base cartography and aerial image viewer of Catalonia and provides interactivity with the visualization of external geoservices.

Following features:

Spatial movement on the map, with zoom up to 1:5,000 scale.
Viewing the topographic map or orthophoto map.
Obtaining GPS positioning.
Possibility of downloading areas of interest for offline viewing.
Place search engine based on the official toponymy using the ICGC geocoder.
Possibility of visualization of the soil layer and the cadastre layer (only with data connection).
Loading and viewing public KML files.
Obtaining the GPS track from GPX files contained in the memory of the mobile device.

NOTE
• MapICC is an application from 2014 that has no maintenance
• May not work on all newer devices

Once the APK file has been downloaded to the phone, you must access the device settings, Security section, and activate the Unknown Origins option. If not, the application cannot be installed. This operation is only recommended to be done with the APK file downloaded from the ICGC page as it may compromise the security of the phone.

You must also check that the MapICC application has permissions for storage and location so that everything works correctly.

The ICGC has a more modern alternative application from 2017, with more functionalities and that is reviewed and updated, called Catalunya Oflline, which can be downloaded for both Android and iOS.
